The tablet is a Samsung Galaxy Tab S2, running Android 7.0, with Kindle version 7.17.0.94. I'll try downloading another that I've read before when I get a chance (I'm at work right now) and see if that works. Not sure if the fact that I've read them before is a factor, or if it's just something particular about these two books. Tried The Way of Kings, by Brandon Sanderson (which I have read on this device) and it did not work. I tried a book I hadn't read on this device before (The Drawing of the Three, by Stephen King), and that worked. On the plus side, since I found where it was being saved, this allowed me to delete the narration and re-download confirming that it is actually downloading and keeping the file, even if the app still isn't recognizing that I've done that. Tried downloading the narration again and confirmed it's still saving to the internal storage (a quick Google search says this is probably intentional for DRM reasons). I checked in the Kindle settings and couldn't find an option to switch the default save location. Turned that off and deleted all the partial files that had been downloaded from troubleshooting, and was finally able to download the narration. I really appreciate the help.Įdit the Second: Audible support determined that the Samsung download booster feature (which uses wifi and cell signal at the same time to speed up downloads) was breaking the download. Big thanks to the two people that commented on this with suggestions. I'll email Audible support, per the comment below, and add another edit if they can figure anything out for me this time. One of those, Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson (which I'd previously read), is giving me the same problem. I also downloaded 3 other books (two I'd read before on this device, and one I hadn't). So, has anyone else experienced anything like this?Įdit: Just in case anyone is following this, I tried moving the app the my SD card, freeing up 10 GB of space on my internal device memory, and manually navigating to the save directory and deleting the file that had downloaded, but it's still not working. I did contact Audible support, but it got escalated to second level and they just sent an email that they couldn't replicate the problem and closed my ticket. I've tried deleting and re-downloading the book, uninstalling/reinstalling the Kindle app, and unregistering the device, but it's still not working. It works on my cell phone and other tablet, just not on one of my devices (which, of course, is the device I most like to use). Has anyone had any issues with downloading the Audible narration for books in Kindle? I was trying to re-download a book (Words of Radiance, by Brandon Sanderson) on my tablet, and it will let me click to download, but after the download completes instead of letting me play the narration, it just prompts me to download it again.
